The idea of power equations shoots out from one’s own idea of gender, which demands the replacement of bias attitudes with a balanced approach. The social policies and its elements that steer ahead in the implementation need to consider the aspects of gender equality at large. This could be through the social protection systems which could be implemented through the programmes, policies, exchange activities, awareness campaigns, educating masses about the concerns, and others.
Considering issues at hand, the human rights though takes a lead, where the societies need to inculcate the behavioural changes and become a part of the efforts that are required to mould the way a society functions. These systems are required to be understood as transformative, rather than evolving out or taking a new birth. The idea of equality has to be aligned with broader social movements for change, and these changes shall tackle the gender- based violence, stigma associated in the vulnerable groups, early marriage issues, and child labour requiring intentional and coordinated efforts across all the spheres of administration.
The gendered dynamics of the society which largely focuses on the issues and the roles adhered by women, needs to turn an eye towards the roles of men. It is essential that a change in the gender dynamics sees a change in the relationships and focuses outside the zone of segregating individuals. For instance, the child care burdens which are basis of gender stereotyping and largely a cultural norm, likewise income security in regard to maternity, cannot be single- handedly transferred to any one gender in particular.
This is not to undermine the transformative processes that are making way and cannot be disregarded, but the protection of women by taking them away from the shackles of vulnerability, disempowerment, exclusion of women from in important decision- making, lower representation of women in the leading institutions, amongst several other issues needs to be explicitly judged to improve the situation of women. It needs to be understood that the women’s vulnerability is a cause and as a result is a consequence of the violations of human rights. Gender sensitisation is not about pitying on women over men, but to equalise both the members of the sexes, and determine the issues which are valid and otherwise stereotyped generalisations.
It is to be considered and understood that the issues concerning gender equality not only states to improve the indices of poverty measurements of women, or their health, education, but the question that looms the society is to how to further the progress and its development. This would reflect on the ways to improve and remove the symptoms of the grave issues that break the strands that build society with empathy and open mindedness, and opening the range of options for both men and women. The agencies and institutions working in the respective design mechanisms of constructing society need to strengthen voices and opinions. For instance uplifting the marginalised individuals by building up strong temperament for development, policy making, technological grooming, and other areas.
